FC DEN BOSCH
It was founded August 18, 1965 as FC Den Bosch/BVV. It is the successor of BVV (1906) and Wilhelmina (1890). Its stadium is called ‘De Vliert’, a 8,500 all-seater. The last 20 years the club relegated and went up again 4 times but spend most of his time in the Dutch second division.
Biggest success was playing the cup final in 1991 against Feyenoord, the match was stopped 10 minutes before the actual end because supporters invaded the pitch. Feyenoord won and FC Den Bosch was banned for European football for a year. Ruud van Nistelrooy started his professional career at this club.
In 2011 the club was close to bankrupt but the supporters stood up for the last time, together with the local community they started Stichting Met Heel Mijn Hart who actually owns 60% of the shares of the club .
FC Den Bosch hardcore fans are the M-SIDE, they are situated on the long end of the pitch not behind the goals: an unique situation in Holland. In the 80’s the for fathers of the M-SIDE where situated in a section behind the goal, from Vak P (section P). In the 80’s they were a big opponent to all big firms in Holland and have a lot of respect around Holland. The firm slowly moved to section M and the name was born in the beginning of the 90’s. The firm is famous in Holland for attacking other groups on the railway stations and travelling in big groups to away games.
The biggest rivals are Ajax Amsterdam and FC Den Haag but there is not any firm that is friendly with the M-SIDE. Still now the M-Side is a close group of friends of about 150 hardcore fans that travel everywhere, on big matches the M-SIDE is full and is 1000 man and women strong
But FC Den Bosch does a lot of good work together with the M-SIDE. A big sponsor gives 500 seats away to the poor people every home match and season tickets can be payed monthly. The supportersclub clean the big Sint Jans Cathedral once a year and build a roof on the wheelchair terrace, they also arrange a special bus for handicapped supporters for away games. This summer the supporters build their own bar next to the stadium: THE BLUE WHITE HOME On matchdays its fully packed with proud fans.
