For some time now the Chicago Fire Soccer Club has been in some troubles in all aspects of the game. Signings that weren’t completed, mismanagement of money, stadium revenue issues and the most latest one supporters vs owner of the club.
As we are reaching the end of the season a campaign that started over a supporter’s chat site between Section 8 and Sector Latino, many of the supporters wanted to make a statement that the owner had to go do to everything that he has cause to club.
On August 22, 2015 game against Colorado it was agreed to black out the sections as a form of protest among the club and the loosing streak the team has had for several years now, some supporters took it far enough as tailgating for 90 min outside of the stadium refusing to enter the sections, it was also noted that there was some problems among supporters because some did not participate in the black out or the tailgate which the situation of desperation is spreading to the fans.
As the second half begun, a black tifo was displayed at the sections in sign of visual protest for the rest of the game which was lost 0-1 killing any chances of reaching the playoffs.
But it wasn’t all bad news, in the midst of all of this the Rock Against Racism 4 took place at the outskirts of the stadiums with a great turn out and a positive messages that racism will not be tolerated in Chicago.
