During the weekend from 14 to 16 of August in the Hotel Arco de San Juan in Murcia, a football meeting took place. The meeting gathered various popular associations, media and clubs of Spain and also European platforms and clubs from England, Ireland and Italy. Between the participant clubs, CAP Ciudad de Murcia was the host club. The other clubs were: Atlético Club de Socios, Avilés Stadium CF, CD Palencia, FC Tarraco, UC Ceares, UD Ourense, Xerez Deportivo FC, Ardita (Roma, Italia), Cork City FC (Ireland), FC United of Manchester. Also FASFE, Supporters Direct, Plataforma ADRV, Unión Burgalesista y APMAE, Wanderers el fútbol del pueblo, Panenka, La Opinión de Málaga y FANVOX.
The different debates, workshops and expos were focused on sharing experiences in the shape of property, management and organization of a popular club. During this three days, spokesmen of the clubs and association s shared opinions in order to grow up the popular football movement.
That Friday in Tarragona also took place a gastronomic event and FC Tarraco offered a dish called “Sócrates”. The raised money is directly given to the club in order to pay the costs of the next season. A good and delicious evening!
Finally, on Sunday, three members of FC Tarraco and Barrikada Ponent were invited to Gràcia, Barcelona. Local parties of the neighborhood were taking place and Eskapulats, the animation group of C.E.Europa (the local club) invited us to make a conference there to explain how a popular football club works. After the conference we went to the stadium to watch an Europa match against Cornellà (0-1). In summary, we are very happy to be invited and sharing experiencies with the people of Eskapulats.
